The Master's Degree program in Agroсlimatic Engineering is aimed at training highly qualified specialists in the field of agroclimatology and sustainable agriculture, combining advanced technologies, interdisciplinary knowledge and a practice-oriented approach.

The substantive core of the training focuses on agroclimatology for the subsequent application of evidence-based methods, digital technologies and innovative solutions in adapting the agricultural sector to climate change.

The graduate of the Master's degree program in Agroclimatic Engineering has competencies in the field of agroclimatic analysis and monitoring, modeling of climatic conditions, assessment of agroclimatic risks and development of management solutions to increase the sustainability of agricultural production.
Career opportunities
The graduate is able to implement the following functions:
  • Conducting an agroclimatic  analysis to assess the agroclimatic conditions of the territory in order to identify trends in climate change.
  • Scientific research and consulting in the field of agroclimatology, agroecology and agrotechnology.
  • Formation of information databases and territorial monitoring systems for agroclimatic indicators and their visualization using modern GIS technologies.
  • Development and implementation of sustainable technologies and models of agricultural production management, taking into account climatic and environmental factors.
  • Design of an agroclimatic monitoring system for obtaining data.
  • Strategic planning of adaptation of agro-industrial enterprises to climate change and development of recommendations for the implementation of the strategy.
  •  Modeling of climatic conditions and agroclimatic processes in order to predict the productivity and sustainability of agricultural landscapes using modern digital technologies (including digital twin technology, intelligent big data processing technologies).
  • Designing digital models to optimize agricultural processes (crop rotation, irrigation and fertilizer use, etc.) with the integration of modern digital solutions into their management (IoT, agribusiness, machine learning).
  •  Forecasting the dynamics of changes in crop production and making recommendations on the rational use of soils, machinery, fertilizers, and personnel.
  • Decision-making based on the analysis of agroclimatic data to ensure sustainable rural development and facilitate their implementation.
  • Assessment of agroclimatic risks and development of recommendations for adaptation of agriculture to changing climatic conditions.
The graduate will have a high potential for employment due to the formation of a set of meta-subject competencies (soft skills), including competencies related to:

  • design and implementation of the project management system (project management)
  • teamwork and team management
  • productive communication (including competencies in self-presentation, product presentation and complex negotiations)
  • self-regulation of one's own activities (including professional self-development) and conscious management of one's own personal resources

The graduate will also be able to act freely in the field of Government Relations, namely, to develop strategies for interaction with government agencies, analyze the political and economic environment for the implementation of management decisions in the field of climatology and sustainable agriculture.

After studying for a master's degree, graduates will have not only the accumulated experience gained during their studies through participation in research and applied projects based on the cases of potential employers, but also a completed portfolio of works.
Potential jobs:
  • State and regional management bodies of agriculture and ecology,
  • Agro-industrial and farming enterprises
  • State and regional management bodies of agriculture and ecology
  • Educational institutions of secondary vocational and higher education with training programs related to atmospheric sciences, the agricultural and industrial sector, and soil science
  • Consulting companies and enterprises engaged in agroclimatic monitoring and sustainable rural development.
